Job summary

NHS Scotland is seeking a Band 4 Health Care Support Worker to join the Elective Orthopaedics team at Woodend Hospital. The role involves holding a delegated patient caseload, delivering treatments and supporting mobility and discharge planning.

You will work both independently and with the physiotherapy team, and may rotate to other acute specialties as needed. The ideal candidate will have several years as a HCSW in a therapy or ward setting, or hold an SVQ Health Care qualification or

Qualifications

• Several years of experience as a HCSW in a therapy team or ward.
• SVQ Health Care qualification or equivalent.
• Experience or knowledge of exercise or Orthopaedics is essential.

Responsibilities

• Hold a delegated caseload of patients and provide treatments within a defined framework.
• Work independently and with the team to support mobility and discharge planning.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families and the multi‑disciplinary team.
• Occasionally work in other Acute Sector specialties as required.
