Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking an Allied Health Assistant to support the Physiotherapy Department at Bay of Islands Hospital in Te Tai Tokerau. The role is a permanent full-time position, working 40 hours per week, inpatients, outpatients, and community settings.

You will assist with exercises, equipment sizing, measurements, and help manage resources and equipment, while benefiting from supervision and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Good literacy and numeracy to School Certificate or National Certificate
• Experience/skill in working with patients/customers
• Computer literate including knowledge of Excel spreadsheets and stock management
• An understanding of physical disability
• Ability to show initiative and a can-do attitude
• Full New Zealand Drivers Licence
• CPR/First Aid training or health service experience desirable (not essential)

Responsibilities

• Provide efficient, high quality client interventions as delegated by allied health practitioners
• Assist with exercises, equipment sizing and fitting, and measurement tests
• Deliver services in inpatients, outpatients and community settings
• Support allied health teams in resources and equipment management
