Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking a Physiotherapy Assistant for our Outpatient Orthopaedic Rehabilitation team at Burwood Campus, Christchurch. This fixed term, full-time (40 hours per week) role supports physiotherapists and hydrotherapy services in delivering rehabilitation.

You will need a suitable rehabilitation or exercise qualification, a NZ driving licence, CPR certification, and at least 5 years in Orthopaedic Physiotherapy or as an assistant.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years Orthopaedic Physiotherapy/Assistant experience.
• Experience in hydrotherapy rehabilitation setting.
• Current CPR certificate.
• Advanced competency delivering exercise programmes independently.
• Strong verbal and computer literacy.
• Ability to set up equipment and prepare for sessions.
• Willingness to work in inpatient settings when required.
• NZ driving licence essential; manual car experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist Physiotherapists in delivering treatment and rehabilitation plans.
• Monitor and supervise Hydrotherapy Programmes.
• Set up equipment for sessions.
• Maintain supplies and equipment within the department.
• Process clinical files and perform some administrative tasks.
• Work in inpatient setting as required.
