Job summary

New Zealand Management Academies (NZMA) in Auckland is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Tutor. You will deliver the Pharmacy Technician programme, sharing your extensive pharmacy experience with emphasis on community practice. Training and teaching tools are provided to help you succeed in this role.

We’re looking for a NZ Registered Pharmacist or a NZ Certificate/Diploma in Pharmacy Technician with a passion for education. No teaching experience is required as thorough training is offered.

Qualifications

• New Zealand Registered Pharmacist or NZ Certificate in Pharmacy Technician L5 with NZ Diploma L6; registration essential.
• Experience delivering pharmacy education is valued but not required.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with students.

Pharmacy Technician Tutor
Location: Auckland
Full-time | Permanent | NZMA Auckland Sylvia Park Campus

Please note that this is a full-time, permanent position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

About the role:
As a Pharmacy Technician Tutor, you will be part of our team delivering the Pharmacy Technician programme. In this role, you will pass on the knowledge you have gained through your extensive pharmacy experience with an emphasis on community pharmacy and an understanding of the skill set required of a Pharmacy Technician.

Your knowledge base will also include anatomy and physiology, OTC, a range of dispensing techniques including calculations, compliance packaing and compounding, OTC, pharmacy legislation, and professionalism.

Qualifications

About you:
You will need to be a New Zealand Registered Pharmacist, or be an experienced Pharmacy Technician holding a NZ Certificate in Pharmacy Technician L5 or NZ Diploma in Pharmacy Technician (Specialist) L6. We are looking for someone with a passion for Pharmacy Education and educating future pharmacy technicians in this industry.

You don’t need any experience in teaching as we will provide you with comprehensive training and support you with teaching tools to become successful in your tutor role.

In addition, you will have:

• Industry background with proven professional experience in New Zealand
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Able to practice patience & try out new things
• Connect and build relationships with all your students from all walks of life
• Passionate and enthusiastic about sharing knowledge and fostering success
• Most importantly, maintain a positive & enthusiastic attitude
• Teaching experience advantageous but not a requirement
