Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is recruiting a Kitchen Assistant to join our hospital kitchen, patient services and caf teams at Burwood Health Campus in Christchurch. The role involves assisting with meal prep, service and maintaining high standards of food safety and presentation.

You will work across kitchen, patient meal services and caf operations, ensuring nutritious meals are delivered on time and with excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Experience in kitchen, food service or catering environments.
• Understanding of basic food safety and hygiene practices.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality.

Responsabilités

• Assist with food preparation, portioning, plating and distribution of meals to hospital wards.
• Support the preparation and service of special dietary meals.
• Provide friendly, professional meal and beverage services to patients.
• Assist with caf operations, including food prep, presentation and customer service.
• Follow food safety legislation, infection prevention and control procedures.
