Job summary

Ōtūmoetai Primary School in Tauranga seeks a permanent classroom teacher (Level Negotiable) for Years 1–8 to join our supportive team.

The successful candidate will apply the refreshed New Zealand Curriculum, demonstrate strong classroom management and collaborate with staff and whānau to provide an inclusive, engaging learning environment. Start date is 28 January 2027. Experience with Structured Literacy and Numeracy would be an advantage.

• Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and whānau.
• Not suitable for a beginning teacher.

Permanent Classroom Teacher (Level Negotiable)

Primary and intermediate (Years 1–8) / kura tuatahi

We seek a resilient, enthusiastic, passionate, collaborative, friendly and self-motivated superstar teacher who is able to provide an inclusive and learning-focussed environment.

The successful candidate must have excellent knowledge of and experience in using the newly refreshed New Zealand Curriculum. Knowledge of BSLA and/or The Code and experience in teaching Structured Literacy and Numeracy would be an advantage. We are wanting a teacher with excellent classroom management skills and someone who can build and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, and whānau. Not suitable for a beginning teacher.

This position will start on Thursday 28th January 2027.
