Job summary

Oranga Tamariki in Kaikohe is seeking Allied Support Workers to assist Social Workers by delivering home visits, admin tasks, and transport for tamariki and rangatahi. This permanent role supports frontline teams and strengthens service delivery.

You will work under supervision, with responsibilities including case note entry, driving ministry vehicles, and helping with Family Group Conferences. A clean driver's licence is essential and weekend/after-hours work may be required.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
• Willingness to drive ministry vehicles and work weekends/after hours if required.

Responsibilities

• Provide support across a site on an on-demand basis.
• Enter case notes into CYRAS and other systems.
• Safely transport tamariki and rangatahi between locations.
• Assist with Family Group Conferences set up and admin tasks.
• Support social workers in care of tamariki during placements.
• Arrange for tamariki in placement and during transitions.
• Support tamariki at school during settling in or return.
• Conduct supervised visits and write contact notes.
