Job summary

Qube Ports NZ is seeking a dedicated People & Culture Officer to support managers and staff across the full employee lifecycle. You’ll partner with a seasoned People & Culture team to drive timely, compliant, and people-focused outcomes, including recruitment, employment administration, records, and strategic People & Culture initiatives.

You’ll play a key role in onboarding, HRIS management, and payroll/status changes, while coordinating interviews, checks, and offboarding.

Qualifications

• A tertiary-level degree in HR or a similar field is preferred.
• Experience in HR or related administrative roles is desirable.
• Working knowledge of NZ employment legislation.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Confidence working with employees, managers and unions.
• Experience using HRIS and recruitment systems.
• Willingness to get stuck in and support the wider team.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day People & Culture support and advice to managers and employees.
• Draft employment agreements, variations, and employment correspondence.
• Administer HRIS and recruitment systems (Jemini & PageUp).
• Support hiring processes including interviews and references checks.
• Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes.
• Maintain employee records and process pay/status changes.
• Generate reports and support audits as required.
• Support wellbeing initiatives and access to EAP services.
• Assist with employment relations matters.
