Job summary

Qube Ports NZ is seeking a People & Culture Officer to support managers and employees across the business from Mount Maunganui. You will handle recruitment, onboarding, records management, and People & Culture initiatives in a large nationwide organisation.

You will work with a supportive P&C team, contribute to compliant processes, and help deliver timely, people-centric outcomes. This full-time role is based in Tauranga with Monday–Friday availability.

Qualifications

• Tertiary degree in HR or related field preferred.
• Experience in HR or related admin role.
• Working knowledge of NZ employment legislation.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Confident working with employees, managers and unions.
• Experience using HRIS and recruitment systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day People & Culture support to managers and employees.
• Draft employment agreements, variations, and correspondence.
• Administer HRIS and recruitment systems (Jemini & PageUp).
• Support hiring processes including interviews and checks.
• Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes.
• Maintain accurate employee records and process pay changes.
• Generate reports and support audits.
• Support wellbeing initiatives and access to EAP.
• Assist with employment relations matters.

About the Role

As a People & Culture Officer, you'll provide day-to-day support to managers and employees across the business, helping deliver timely, compliant, and people-focused outcomes. Working closely with operational leaders, you'll play a key role in recruitment, employment administration, employee records management, and People & Culture initiatives.

Location: Mount Maunganui

Status: Full-Time, Monday - Friday

A snapshot of some of the specific responsibilities:

• Provide day-to-day People & Culture support and advice to managers and employees

• Support hiring processes including interviews, reference checks, and pre-employment checks
• Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes

• Assist with employment relations matters

Who we're looking for:

• Someone with a tertiary-level degree in HR or similar is preferred
• Experience in HR or a related administrative role
