Job summary

ASB Bank in New Zealand is seeking a Pega System Architect to establish the Pega Centre of Excellence. You will work with senior architects and delivery teams to configure and enhance Pega applications, build reusable components, and support CoE guardrails.

The role requires PCSA certification and practical Pega experience, with a focus on secure, scalable solutions and agile delivery within a regulated financial services context.

Qualifications

• PCSA certification is required for this role.
• Practical experience configuring or supporting Pega applications.
• Foundational understanding of Pega case management, workflows, UIs, data models, decision rules and security.
• Ability to translate user stories into scoped changes with guidance.
• Familiarity with Pega guardrails, reusable design and performance principles.
• Experience with unit testing, defect resolution and clear technical documentation.
• Basic understanding of APIs, integrations, and deployment practices.

Responsibilities

• Configure, test and maintain Pega features under guidance of senior architects.
• Translate business requirements into secure, scalable Pega solutions.
• Build/update case types, workflows, UIs, data objects and integration points.
• Apply Pega guardrails and development standards across projects.
• Create and maintain reusable components, templates and technical docs.
• Use delivery pipelines to manage changes and enable reliable releases.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, engineers and testers to deliver customer outcomes.
• Contribute to CoE initiatives like standards adoption and knowledge sharing.
