Job summary

Whānau Āwhina Plunket is seeking an experienced Payroll Leader to guide a small team of 3 Payroll Advisors in Wellington. You will oversee our fortnightly payroll, coordinate workload, and approve each pay run to ensure 1,100 kaimahi are paid accurately and on time, with hybrid work on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

You will drive process improvements, provide analysis for Finance and leadership, manage escalations on complex payroll matters, and foster a culture of collaboration and accountability

Qualifications

• Experience leading payroll teams and paying 1,100 employees accurately.
• Strong leadership and coaching capabilities.
• Ability to improve payroll processes and deliver clear financial insights.

Responsibilities

• Oversee fortnightly payroll and approve each pay run for 1,100 kaimahi.
• Coordinate workload of three Payroll Advisors and ensure timeliness.
• Lead process improvements and provide reporting for Finance and leadership.
