Job summary

Environment Canterbury is seeking a payroll analytics professional to turn complex payroll data into clear insights that shape workforce planning. The role partners with the Manager People Technology, Insights & Payroll, and collaborates across People, Finance and Digital Solutions while working flexibly in a modern environment.

With seven years of payroll data experience and a strong grasp of NZ payroll rules, you will translate legislation into practical data outcomes, explain impacts clearly,

Qualifications

• Minimum seven years' experience working with payroll and workforce data in a medium to large organisation.
• Strong knowledge of the Holidays Act and New Zealand payroll legislation.
• Ability to explain complex data and legislative impacts to non-specialists.
• Proficiency in extracting and analysing data using Excel and SQL.

Responsibilities

• Turn payroll data into insights that inform workforce planning and leadership decisions.
• Work with People Technology, Insights & Payroll and collaborate with People & Capability, Finance and Digital Solutions.
• Balance multiple priorities and ensure accuracy in data, processes and reporting.
