Job summary

Health New Zealand is seeking an experienced Payroll Support Lead to manage a team of eight payroll professionals and ensure accurate, timely, and compliant payroll operations within a large, complex organisation.

You will lead and develop payroll specialists, oversee end-to-end payroll processing, ensure quality assurance, maintain controls, and drive continuous improvement while partnering with HR, Finance and other stakeholders across the business.

Qualifications

• Extensive people leadership and team management experience.
• Minimum 10 years of New Zealand payroll experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in a large, complex payroll environment.
• Strong knowledge of New Zealand payroll legislation ( Holidays Act 2003, ERA, Wages Protection Act, Parental Leave Act, KiwiSaver).
• Proven experience in payroll compliance, QA, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
