Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora in Auckland is seeking a Payroll Officer to join our payroll team on a fixed-term basis. The role delivers high-quality payroll services in a fast-paced shared services environment and supports participating services across the motu.

You will be responsible for accurate and timely payroll data processing, loading HR and pay information, maintenance, and compliance with employment legislation and internal policies.

Qualifications

  • Experience working in payroll or accounts functions.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
  • Customer-focused approach with the ability to respond to payroll queries professionally and efficiently.
  • Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • An understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the ability to apply its principles in your everyday work.
  • Experience in a shared services or large organisational environment, and at least two years' payroll experience, will be advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Process payroll data accurately and on time for each pay cycle.
  • Load HR and pay information, maintain records and ensure compliance with relevant policies and legislation.
  • Respond to payroll queries professionally within agreed service levels and collaborate with colleagues to ensure smooth payroll processes.

About the Role

We are seeking a Payroll Officer to join our payroll team in Auckland on a fixed-term basis. This role plays an important part in supporting participating services by delivering high-quality, customer-focused payroll services in a fast-paced shared services environment.

In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll data, including HR and pay information loading, maintenance, and compliance with relevant employment legislation and internal policies.

You will respond to payroll queries professionally and within agreed service levels, while working closely with colleagues to ensure payroll processes run smoothly each pay cycle.
