Job summary

FIRST Security is seeking a motivated Field Service Officer to join our Nelson team. You will install and maintain electronic monitoring equipment for individuals on community-based sentences, covering courts, prisons, and residential homes.

Ideal candidates will have a can-do attitude, strong communication skills, and the ability to stay calm under pressure. A full NZ driver’s licence, MOJ check, COA (or ability to obtain one), and NZ residency or valid visa are required.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn and adapt quickly.
• Strong communication and listening skills.
• Ability to think quickly and stay calm under pressure.
• Good level of physical fitness.
• Must hold a full NZ driver’s licence.
• Must be able to pass a Ministry of Justice Criminal Convictions check.
• Must hold a current COA or have ability to obtain one.
• NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain electronic monitoring equipment.
• Respond to equipment faults and alert activations.
• Attend callouts across courts, prisons, and residential locations.
• Liaise with field support teams to resolve issues quickly.
• Provide professional, respectful interactions with clients and stakeholders.
• Assist in other areas of the business when required.

About the Role

Duties:

• Installing and maintaining electronic monitoring equipment
• Responding to equipment faults and alert activations
• Attending callouts across courts, prisons, and residential locations
• Liaising with field support teams to resolve issues quickly
• Providing professional, respectful interactions with clients and stakeholders
• Assisting in other areas of the business when required
