Eastern Institute of Technology invites applications for a part-time (0.4 FTE), fixed-term Post Graduate Computing Lecturer based in Auckland. The appointment runs 1 January 2027 to 17 December 2027, with commencement in January 2027.

The role concentrates on delivering postgraduate courses, curriculum development, and thesis supervision within the School of Computing. The successful candidate will contribute to research, scholarship, and industry-relevant activity, supporting student outcomes

Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualification in data analytics, computer science, information systems, or related discipline.
• Tertiary teaching experience, preferably within postgraduate computing, information technology, or data analytics programmes.
• Strong knowledge of data analytics, data visualisation, advanced mobile and wireless technologies, or related computing disciplines.
• Experience designing, developing, and reviewing curriculum and assessment materials.
• Experience delivering education across classroom, online, and blended learning.
• Proficiency with industry-relevant technologies and tools such as Python, R, SQL, Power BI, and learning management systems.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to engage diverse learners.
• Strong organisational, planning, and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
• Experience supervising postgraduate research, dissertations, or applied industry projects.
• A commitment to student success, continuous improvement, professional development, and culturally responsive teaching practices.

Responsibilities

• Delivering postgraduate courses in data analytics, digital technologies, and related computing disciplines.
• Developing, reviewing, and enhancing curriculum, learning resources, and assessment activities.
• Supervising postgraduate research projects, applied industry projects, and dissertations.
• Contributing to research, scholarship, and professional activities.
• Building and maintaining relationships with students, academic colleagues, industry partners, and community stakeholders.
• Designing and delivering learning experiences across face-to-face, online, and blended environments.
• Assessing student performance and providing constructive feedback to support learner achievement.
• Participating in moderation, course evaluation, and quality assurance activities.
• Maintaining accurate academic records and ensuring policy compliance.
• Contributing to programme planning and School initiatives.
