Health NZ Counties Manukau is seeking a Midwife Clinical Coach for the Maternity South Womens Health at Middlemore Hospital. This permanent part-time role (0.9 FTE) focuses on clinical education and coaching to midwives at various career stages, including MFYP graduates and those returning to practice.

You will lead coaching, mentorship, and orientation activities, partner with education providers, and drive culturally safe, evidence-informed practice in a supportive team environment.

Formación

• NZ Registered Midwife with current Annual Practising Certificate.
• 5+ years recent clinical experience in NZ.
• Minimum 2+ years inpatient clinical experience.

Responsabilidades

• Clinical Coaching: provide one-on-one and group coaching to midwives to enhance skills and confidence.
• Mentorship: role model clinical excellence and culturally safe practice.
• Education & Orientation: assist with orientation and clinical support of new staff and midwives.
• Program Development: contribute to the development of the midwifery new graduate programme.
• Collaboration with Education Providers: work with tertiary institutions to support transitions from education to practice.
• Cultural Support: identify Māori and Pacific midwives needing extra cultural support.
• Quality Improvement: contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
• Critical Thinking Development: encourage critical thinking for best care.
