Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking a General Surgeon to join our Surgical team on a part-time permanent basis in Hastings, Hawke's Bay. The role includes managing a wide range of General Surgical conditions and participating in the on-call roster (1:10).

We value a surgeon who demonstrates commitment to high-quality care, teamwork, teaching and leadership, with endoscopy experience considered advantageous.

Qualifications

• Must be registered, or eligible for registration, as Specialist General Surgeon with the NZ Medical Council.
• Fellow of RACS or an equivalent qualification is expected.
• Higher qualification enabling Vocational Registration is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage a wide range of General Surgical conditions.
• Fully participate in the on-call roster (1:10).
• Manage acute surgical patients.
• Endoscopy experience is advantageous (upper and lower GI).

Higher qualification in Surgery

Vocational Registration with NZ Medical Council
