Job summary

Auckland Council is seeking a part‑time Gallery Coordinator for Papakura Art Gallery, a unique stand‑alone space delivering exhibitions and community programmes. The role focuses on engaging communities, coordinating events, and raising the gallery's profile while embracing Te Ao Māori values.

The position is permanent part‑time (21.5 hours/week, Wed–Sat) with a flexible, supportive work environment and opportunities to contribute to local culture and creativity within Tamaki Makaurau.

Qualifications

  • Co-ordinate exhibitions, public programmes and community arts events.
  • Experience coordinating community arts events and public programmes.
  • Passion for diverse communities and empathy for people from varied backgrounds.
  • Creativity with strong organisation and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in an agile, collaborative team environment.
  • Understanding and appreciation of Te Ao Māori values and principles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a welcoming gallery space.
  • Coordinate exhibitions, public programmes and community arts events.
  • Rais e profile of Papakura Art Gallery through relevant public programmes.
  • Demonstrate Te Ao Māori values in daily work.
  • Engage diverse communities through creative approaches and engagement.
