Job summary

Presbyterian Support Otago’s Enliven care home in Oamaru is seeking an Activities Assistant to support residents with enriching events and daily activities. You will help enhance dignity, independence and social wellbeing for older people in our Iona Care Centre.

The role is permanent part-time (10 hours per week) with shifts on Thursdays and Fridays; additional hours may be available to cover leave. A driver’s license and a friendly, patient approach are essential.

Qualifications

• Be able to plan and organise activities for residents.
• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and advocacy skills.
• Be energetic, creative and self-motivated.
• Hold a full driver’s license and be empathetic.
• Respect residents’ identity, dignity and independence.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver enriching activities and events.
