Job summary

sKids is hiring a Manager at our Kumeu sites (Waimauku, Taupaki & Matua Ngaru). The role starts with a minimum of 10-15 hours per week, rostered Mon–Fri, with shifts from 7:00–8:30am and 2:30–6:00pm, plus potential school holiday hours.

You’ll own day-to-day operations, lead a team of programme staff, and deliver engaging activities for children. Strong leadership, calm behaviour management, and excellent communication with parents and school staff are essential.

Qualifications

• Have proven leadership experience working with groups of children.
• Strong communication with parents, schools and team members.
• Ownership of programmes, teams, or operations.
• Ability to manage challenging behaviour and high-energy group environments.
• Must have the legal right to work in New Zealand.
• Reliable transport to sites around Kumeu (Waimauku, Taupaki & Matua Ngaru).
• Over 20 years old per regulations.

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of the day-to-day running of the sKids programme from set-up through pack-down.
• Lead and manage a large group of children with a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment.
• Plan and deliver structured activities (arts, sports, trips, baking, drama, music).
• Proactively manage challenging behaviour and support tamariki with varying needs.
• Build strong relationships with parents, caregivers and school staff onsite.
• Lead, coach, and delegate to Programme Assistants to maintain high standards.
• Prepare in advance by organising resources and setting clear expectations for smooth sessions.
