Job summary

sKids in Auckland is seeking a Programme Manager to lead our after-school programme at multiple sites. You will oversee day-to-day operations, supervise assistants, and create safe, engaging activities for tamariki after school.

The role requires proven leadership with children, strong communication with parents and school staff, and a commitment to safeguarding. Part-time, 15 hours weekly, with weekday shifts and no weekend work.

Qualifications

• Have proven leadership experience working with groups of children (e.g. OSCAR programmes, teaching, coaching, childcare, camps)
• Strong communication with parents, schools, and team members
• Ability to manage challenging behaviour using positive guidance strategies
• Ability to own programmes, teams, or operations, not just assist
• Experience in delivering structured activities for children (arts, sports, drama, music)
• Legally allowed to work in New Zealand (visa/citizenship)

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day running of the sKids programme from set-up to pack-down
• Lead and manage a large group of children with a safe, engaging environment
• Plan and deliver arts, sports, games, trips, baking, drama, and music activities
• Proactively manage challenging behaviour with positive guidance
• Build relationships with parents, caregivers, and school staff on-site
• Lead, coach, and delegate to Programme Assistants to maintain standards
• Prepare resources and activities in advance and set clear team expectations
• Offer 50% discount on selected sKids programmes
• Earn up to $250 per referral
