Job summary

sKids in New Zealand is seeking Managers & Assistant Managers to lead programmes at our Kumeu sites (Waimauku, Taupaki & Matua Ngaru). Shifts are 10–15 hours per week, rostered Monday to Friday, with morning 7:00–8:30 and afternoon 2:30–6:00 sessions; some school holiday hours may apply.

You will supervise children, manage behaviours, plan activities, and mentor Programme Assistants, while building strong relationships with parents and school staff.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience with groups of children in OSCAR programmes, teaching, coaching, childcare, camps, or similar environments.
• Have reliable transport to sites around Kumeu (Waimauku, Taupaki & Matua Ngaru).
• Ability to work 10–15 hours weekly with Monday–Friday roster.

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of day-to-day running of the sKids programme from set-up through pack-down.
• Lead and manage a large group of children, ensuring a safe, inclusive environment.
• Plan and deliver structured activities (arts, sports, trips, baking, drama, music).
• Proactively manage challenging behaviour using positive guidance strategies.
• Build strong relationships with parents, caregivers, and school staff onsite.
• Lead, coach, and delegate to Programme Assistants to maintain high standards.
