Job summary

sKids Tamaoho is seeking an Assistant Programme Manager in Auckland South (Pukekohe). This part-time role requires a minimum of 10 hours per week, with shifts 7am–8.30am and 2.30pm–6.00pm, Monday to Friday and potential holiday programme hours.

You will support the Programme Manager, act as 2IC, supervise tamariki, plan activities, manage behaviour with positive guidance, and engage families and school staff.

Qualifications

• Have the legal right to work in New Zealand
• Have reliable transport to sKids Tamaoho site
• Have experience working with groups of children
• Are confident stepping into a leadership role when needed
• Have exposure to managing behaviour in group settings
• Are a team player who can both support and lead others
• Communicate well with both children and adults
• Are over the age of 20 years old

Responsibilities

• Support the Programme Manager in day-to-day running of the sKids programme
• Step up as 2IC – lead sessions when the Programme Manager is away
• Supervise and engage large groups of tamariki in a safe, inclusive environment
• Assist in planning and delivering arts, sports, games and offsite trips
• Support with managing behaviour using positive guidance strategies
• Guide and support Programme Assistants on shift
• Build relationships with parents, caregivers and school staff
• Assist with setup, pack-down and preparation of resources
