Job summary

InterGroup in Auckland, New Zealand is seeking a skilled Panel Beater or Automotive Painter to maintain our fleet of trucks and specialist vehicles to a high standard.

You will repair, prepare, paint and finish surfaces, ensuring vehicles are presented professionally and ready for work. Experience with trucks and safety-conscious tradespeople preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Panel Beater or Automotive Painter.
• Experience on trucks or heavy/commercial vehicles is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail and high workmanship standards.
• Commitment to health and safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Carry out panel beating and body repairs on trucks, trailers and specialist vehicles.
• Prepare surfaces, panels and components for painting.
• Paint and finish to a professional standard, colour matching when required.
• Repair scratches, dents and general wear and tear.
• Ensure vehicles look neat and presentable.
• Inspect vehicles to identify repairs needed.
• Move and maintain work areas, tools and cleanliness.
• Follow health and safety procedures.

Are you a skilled Panel Beater or Automotive Painter who takes pride in a job well done?

InterGroup is looking for a hands‑on, experienced tradesperson to join our team and help keep our fleet of trucks and specialist vehicles looking sharp, professional and ready for work.

With a large fleet operating across our business, no two days will be the same. From repairing damage and preparing panels to painting and finishing, you’ll play an important role in maintaining the appearance and presentation of our vehicles.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Carrying out panel beating and body repairs on trucks, trailers and specialist vehicles
• Preparing surfaces, panels and components for painting
• Automotive painting, colour matching and finishing
• Repairing scratches, dents and general wear and tear
• Ensuring vehicles are presented to a high standard and look neat, tidy and professional
• Inspecting vehicles and identifying repairs or cosmetic work required
• Assisting with general fleet presentation and maintenance
• Keeping your work area, tools and equipment clean and organised
• Working safely and following all relevant health and safety procedures
• Working closely with the Fleet and Operations teams to keep vehicles moving and available for work

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is practical, reliable and takes real pride in their workmanship.

You’ll ideally have:

• Previous experience as a Panel Beater, Automotive Painter or in a similar trade
• Experience working on trucks, heavy vehicles or commercial vehicles would be advantageous
• Strong attention to detail and a high standard of workmanship
• Good knowledge of panel preparation, painting and finishing
• The ability to work independently and manage your workload
• A strong commitment to health and safety
