Job summary

Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand (Starship Child Health) seeks a Clinical Physiologist (Sleep) to deliver paediatric sleep physiology services at Starship. You will perform PSG setup and monitoring, Level 1–4 sleep studies, overnight oximetry, TcCO2 monitoring, PAP/NIV initiation and titration, with reporting aligned to AASM.

The role involves liaising with multidisciplinary teams, covering day, evening and night shifts including overnight sleep studies, to ensure safe and timely patient care

Qualifications

• Willing to work towards registration or be registered as a Clinical Physiologist (Sleep).
• Bachelor of Science (BSc) or equivalent in a relevant field is required.
• Postgraduate diploma in sleep physiology or equivalent is desirable.
• RPSGT credential is desirable.
• Paediatric experience is desirable.
• Sleep laboratory physiology experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Set up and monitor polysomnography (PSG) and perform Level 1–4 sleep studies.
• Overnight oximetry, TcCO2 monitoring, PAP and NIV initiation, titration and follow-up.
• Maintain and score sleep studies according to AASM manual; prepare reports.
• Liaise with respiratory and sleep medical teams and other paediatric services.
