The Kids Place is seeking a Paediatric Occupational Therapist for a part-time position based in Northcote, Auckland. The role involves contributing to the multidisciplinary team caring for children and adolescents, with a focus on family-centred, child-friendly services.

The successful candidate will bring a solid background in paediatric therapy, collaborate with families, and support the child’s developmental goals within a supportive, community-oriented setting.

Qualifications

• Experience and qualification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
• Excellent working knowledge of the NZ mental health field including relevant legislation
• 5 years clinical practice in Mental Health
• Commitment for biocultural practice
• Sound understanding and commitment to recovery principals
• High standard of verbal and written communication
• PC literacy
• FRANZCP or Equivalent

Responsibilities

• Contribute to professional development and supervision of Registrars, House Officers and Students.
• Work within the Child and Family Unit and adolescent mental health inpatient unit serving children and youth up to 18 years.

Paediatric Occupational Therapist Part Time (Northcote)

Auckland

The Child Psychiatrist contributes to the professional development and supervision of the supportive team of Registrars House Officers and Students.

The Child and Family Unit and adolescent mental health inpatient unit working with young people from 0 to 18 years old and their families

They are one of only three specialist inpatient Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service units in New Zealand serving a very large region with strong commitment to collaboration between young person family staff and other services

There is also a 3 bed Mother and Baby unit which is the second only in New Zealand . The Unit is situated in Auckland Central.

Roles do not come up often for SMO in this great service. We are looking for someone who is already registered or eligible for Locum Tenens and committed to being in New Zealand in January
