Job summary

Whanganui District Health Board - Clinical Vacancies is seeking an experienced Paediatric Occupational Therapist to support babies, toddlers and children within the Child Development Service at Whanganui Hospital. This permanent part-time (0.75FTE) role runs Monday to Friday and focuses on hands-on clinical practice with a strong quality improvement component.

You will work with tamariki and whānau, bringing a collaborative, whānau-centred approach to care.

Qualifications

  • Current registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of New Zealand and an Annual Practising Certificate.
  • Paediatric Occupational Therapy experience with babies, toddlers and children.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Collaborative, whānau-centred approach to practice.

Responsibilities

  • Provide paediatric OT services to babies, toddlers and children within the Child Development Service.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support tamariki and whānau.
  • Contribute to quality improvement projects shaping service development.
  • Work in Whanganui Hospital, delivering hands-on clinical care in a supportive setting.

About you

You are an experienced Occupational Therapist who enjoys working with tamariki and whānau who also thrives in a collaborative environment. Curious and motivated, you bring a thoughtful approach to clinical practice and an interest in improving how care is delivered.

What you will bring:

  • Current registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of New Zealand, and a current Annual Practicing Certificate
  • Paediatric Occupational Therapy experience working with babies, toddlers, and children
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

  • A current full NZ drivers licence
