Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking an Orderly – Security at Nelson Hospital for a permanent part-time position. You will assist with moving patients and equipment and ensure timely, safe delivery of supplies while maintaining professional, courteous service within a hospital setting.

The role is 0.75 FTE (60 hours per fortnight), working 4:30 PM–11:00 PM, Monday to Sunday. Training will be provided to support your development and contribution to patient care.

About the Role

As an Orderly - Security, you will play an important role insupporting patient care by ensuring the safe and timely movement of patients,equipment, specimens, and supplies throughout the hospital. You will provide acourteous, professional, and responsive service while working closely withclinical and non-clinical teams.

This is a permanent part-time position working 60 hours perfortnight (0.75 FTE), Monday to Sunday, 4.30PM to 11.00PM.

About you

As an Orderly, you will beanexcellent communicator who is passionate about delivering a quality service.Due to the nature of work you must:

• Be able to manage your time effectively and work independently;
• Have the physical capability to stand and walk for extended periods.

It’s essentialthat you:

• Be physically fit and able to undertake manual handling tasks safely;
• Demonstrate professionalism and a customer-focused attitude;
• Are eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ visaat the time of applying.

Previousexperience as an Orderly, Security Officer, Porter, Hotel Porter, HealthcareAssistant, or in a customer service environment would be advantageous, althoughfull training will be provided.
