Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora in Nelson Hospital is seeking an Orderly to support the day-to-day operations and the safe movement of patients and equipment. This casual role is on an as-required basis to assist with peak capacity and staff leave, with no fixed days.

You will work as part of a small team delivering courteous, professional service, ensuring timely and correct placement of people and items and contributing to high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Must obtain a clean driver's licence.
• Physically fit with lifting knowledge and stamina.
• Able to work in NZ or hold a valid NZ visa at time of applying.

Responsibilities

About the Role

As an Orderly, you will support patient care by safely moving patients and items around the hospital at the right time, to the right place, in a courteous, professional and well-presented manner. The working hours will be on an as required basis assisting with peak capacity and covering staff leave. There are no fixed days. Please view the position description for further information. About you

As an Orderly, you will be an excellent communicator who is passionate about delivering a quality service. Due to the nature of work you must:

• Be efficient and able to manage your time effectively
• Be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time

Its essential that you:

• Obtain a clean driver's licence
• Are physically fit and active with knowledge of heaving lifting techniques
• Are eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ visa at the time of applying

Previous Hotel / Porter/ Orderly or Security worker experience would be advantageous, but is not essential.
