Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate a team of farm workers in crop production.
  • Oversee daily farm operations: soil prep, planting, pruning, irrigation, harvest.
  • Allocate tasks and review performance for efficiency.
  • Align work with production schedules and safety rules.
  • Monitor crop health and report issues to Site Supervisor.
  • Support seasonal work programmes and farm activities.
  • Maintain records of operations, yields, harvests, and timesheets.
  • Train staff in procedures, equipment, safety.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Liaise with contractors and management for coordination.
  • Address worker concerns and foster a positive environment.
  • Protect confidentiality and uphold standards.
  • Perform other duties as required.

We work with orchards to assure seamless operations and superior results. We are looking to hire Orchard Team Leaders to be a part of our expanding business operations.

About the Role

We are seeking motivated individuals to join our team as Orchard Team Leaders. This hands‑on role involves supervising teams of workers engaged in crop production activities to ensure smooth and efficient daily operations.

You will coordinate field work, monitor crop conditions, ensure tasks are completed in line with production schedules, quality standards, and health and safety requirements, supporting the timely harvest of crops. You will report to the Site Supervisor.

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate a team of farm workers engaged in crop production activities.
  • Oversee daily farm operations including soil preparation, planting, thinning, pruning, irrigation, harvesting, and post-harvest handling.
  • Allocate tasks to the workers and review worker performance to maintain efficiency and required standards.
  • Carry out activities in line with production schedules and operational plans set by the Site Supervisor / Site Manager.
  • Monitor crop conditions and report the issues relating to plant health, pests, irrigation, and fertilisation to the Site Supervisor.
  • Assist in implementing seasonal work programmes and farm activities as directed by the Site Supervisor.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily operations, crop yields, harvest volumes, and worker timesheets.
  • Train and induct staff in farm procedures, equipment use, and workplace safety requirements.
  • Promote compliance with workplace health and safety regulations through safe work practices.
  • Liaise with contractors, workers, and management to support effective coordination of farm operations.
  • Address worker concerns and support a positive and productive work environment.
  • Maintain confidentiality of company information and uphold workplace standards.
  • Perform other duties as reasonably required.
Skills & Experience Requirements

If you are new to the industry, do not worry. Training will be provided.

You should be:

  • Physically fit and able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Reliable, proactive, and able to take responsibility for team performance
  • Good time management skills with strong attention to detail

Qualifications and Prior Work Experience are not mandatory, but good to have:

  • A Level 4 Certificate or Diploma,OR
  • At least one year of relevant experience OR
  • A bachelors degree in any field may substitute the education and work experience requirements mentioned above
