Job summary

Higgins Auckland Chipsealing Crew is seeking an experienced Specialist Operator to safely run the bitumen sprayer and deliver high-quality surfacing across road maintenance projects. You will contribute to efficient operations and site safety while maintaining equipment and following best practices.

Join Higgins for a permanent role with 40 hours per week, ongoing training, and opportunities to gain additional licences and qualifications in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Experience operating a bitumen sprayer in chipsealing or road surfacing projects.
• Hold a current Class 4 driver licence; Class 5 is advantageous.
• Endorsements such as WTR (water, etc.) are required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate the bitumen sprayer on various road maintenance and construction sites.
• Ensure accurate product application and quality surfacing outcomes.
• Maintain and service the equipment to ensure reliability and safety.
• Collaborate with team members to meet project schedules and safety standards.

Join the crew building better roads for safer journeys. The Higgins Green Team is looking for an experienced Specialist Operator to join our Auckland Chipsealing Crew. If you're skilled in operating a bitumen sprayer and take pride in delivering high-quality surfacing work, we'd love to hear from you.

In this role, you'll be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the bitumen sprayer, ensuring accurate application and quality outcomes across a range of road maintenance and construction projects.

What You’ll Bring

• Previous experience as a Sprayer Operator within Chipsealing or road surfacing
• A Class 4 Driver Licence is essential, with a Class 5 Licence being an advantage
• WTR endorsement
• Dangerous Goods endorsement preferred (we'll support you to gain this if needed)
• A safety-first attitude, with a commitment to keeping yourself, your team, and the public safe
• A team-player mindset, with the flexibility and reliability to work in all conditions, rain or shine
• Passion for the industry, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn and grow
