Job summary

Approach Signs, part of Higgins Group, seeks an Operations Supervisor to oversee daily manufacturing activities, coordinate production, and support the factory team to deliver quality signage on time.

You will drive planning, lean improvements, safety practices, and customer and supplier relationships while mentoring staff in a busy Kapiti Coast operation. This hands-on role offers development opportunities and a clear pathway within Higgins, Fletcher Construction, and the VINCI network.

Qualifications

• Experience leading or supervising teams within a manufacturing, production or operational environment.
• Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage changing priorities.
• Knowledge of LEAN principles or experience improving quality, productivity and workflow.
• Confident building relationships with customers, suppliers and colleagues at all levels.
• A practical approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
• A strong commitment to health, safety and supporting the development of others.

• Coordinate daily workflow and ensure the team has the materials, equipment and information needed to succeed
• Monitor productivity, quality and delivery performance, identifying and resolving issues as they arise
• Coordinate preventative maintenance and support the efficient use of plant and machinery
• Coach and support team members, providing clear direction and practical feedback
• Build positive relationships with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders while assisting with quotes, tenders and enquiries

Job description

Approach Signs is a leading manufacturer of road signs and traffic safety products based on the Kapiti Coast. As part of the Higgins Group, we support road and infrastructure projects across New Zealand by producing signage that helps keep road users safe.

We're looking for an Operations Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day running of our manufacturing operation. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll coordinate production, support the factory team, manage workflow and work closely with customers and suppliers to ensure quality products are delivered safely and on time.

Key Responsibilities
