Job summary

Health New Zealand is seeking a Project Manager for Operational Commissioning within the Regional Infrastructure & Investment Group. The role focuses on coaching operational teams, contractor management, and implementing health and safety standards across sites and projects in New Zealand.

You will oversee critical risk controls, conduct assurance activities, and work with district teams and contractors to ensure consistent application of HNZ standards and practices.

Qualifications

• Experience providing health and safety advice in construction, infrastructure, facilities management or similar.
• Experience in contractor health and safety management including onboarding and monitoring.
• Strong understanding of critical risk management and Safe Systems of Work.

Responsibilities

• Support, coach and mentor operational teams to identify and manage health and safety risks.
• Provide guidance on contractor prequalification, onboarding, risk management, monitoring and assurance.
• Assist with health and safety assurance activities including audits and risk reviews.
