Job summary

OceanaGold seeks a trade-qualified electrician to maintain open pit electrical systems and HV mobile mining equipment. Under the Open Pit Electrical Supervisor, you will work on site in Otago, NZ, on a 7 on / 7 off dayshift roster, contributing to safe, reliable plant operation.

Responsibilities include fault diagnosis, HV infrastructure work, lighting, gensets and dewatering equipment, with a focus on safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Registered with Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB)
• First Aid Certificate (current)
• Full and Current Driver Licence; manual preferred
• NZ work rights / visa in place

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance, repairs, and improvements to electrical equipment in the open pit and general mine site
• Diagnose faults during downtime or power outages to maximise plant availability
• Maintain and fault-find HV infrastructure including substations, switchgear, power reticulation
• Repair and maintain lighting plants, generators and dewatering equipment
• Record all work for historical records
• Attend pre-shift safety and toolbox talks
• Complete Stop and Think and JSA prior to tasks
• Follow SOPs and contribute to procedure reviews
