Palmerston North City Council is seeking an Events Venue Officer to join the Palmy Venues + Events team for a 12-month fixed-term contract, working full-time hours (40 per week). The role covers Arena, Palmy Conference + Function Centre, and Caccia Birch, delivering venue experiences and citywide events.

You will set up and support events, liaise with clients, and ensure spaces are well-presented. A full NZ driver’s licence is required, with forklift licence preferred, and a proactive, can-do

Qualifications

• NZ driver's licence is required.
• Forklift licence is preferred.
• Experience in event operations or venue setup.
• Excellent interpersonal and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Set up and support events across venues.
• Liaise with clients and manage on-site needs.
• Ensure spaces are presented to a high standard.
• Work rotating shifts including evenings and weekends.
• Follow energy and safety protocols.
