Job summary

Te Aho o Te Kura Pounamu is seeking three kaiako with Learning Support expertise for the Northern region, based in Auckland or Whangārei. The role includes mandatory office days at Queen Street, Auckland or Robert Street, Whangārei and involves working with ORS-supported learners via distance learning.

You will engage with ākonga and whānau, plan learning advisories, and use bespoke online tools. A strong NZ curriculum understanding and collaborative approach are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have NZ teacher registration and current practising certificate.
• Strong understanding of the New Zealand Curriculum and assessment practices.
• Commitment to innovative, future-focused pedagogies that engage ākonga.
• Ability to build strong collaborative relationships with ākonga, whānau, and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Plan and engage with ākonga at huinga ako (learning advisories).
• Work in the community and in the home with your ākonga and whānau.
• Use our bespoke tools to offer online learning and communication.
• You will be supported by Teacher aides for ORS-funded ākonga.
• Contribute to distance learning delivery using online platforms.
