Job summary

Auckland Zoo, operating within Auckland Council, seeks a Conservation Learning Facilitator for Online Learning to develop and deliver conservation education through digital platforms. You will design and manage online courses, align content with learning goals, and drive engagement across schools and other audiences, onsite and online.

The role emphasizes building a strong online portfolio, using LMS tools, and collaborating across teams to expand reach and impact.

Qualifications

• Experience developing, delivering and evaluating educational or conservation learning programmes.
• Teaching, facilitation or environmental education experience with diverse audiences.
• Experience creating digital learning content and confidence with online platforms and tools.
• Experience with Moodle or another LMS, or ability to learn new systems.
• Knowledge of the New Zealand Curriculum and effective learning practices.
• Excellent communication, organisational and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, deliver and evaluate high-quality conservation learning programmes for schools and other audiences onsite, offsite and online.
• Create learning experiences aligned with NZ Curriculum and MOE guidance.
• Lead development, administration and continuous improvement of online learning programmes and LMS.
• Develop and maintain engaging online courses, learning resources and digital content.
• Monitor learner participation and platform performance to inform improvements.
• Support colleagues to utilise the LMS for learning, training and development.
• Collaborate across teams to expand Conservation Learning Online reach and impact.
