Job summary

Responsibilities include reading drawings, cutting, bending, tying reinforcement, and assembling reinforcement cages. You will work with engineers, supervisors, and other trades while maintaining safety standards and efficient site practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Steel Fixer in commercial, civil, or construction environments.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and reinforcement plans.
• Strong knowledge of steel fixing techniques including cutting, bending, and tying reinforcement steel.
• Physically fit and able to perform manual labour outdoors.
• Commitment to workplace health and safety and quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret drawings to determine reinforcement requirements.
• Measure, cut, bend, and position reinforcement bars per project specs.
• Install and secure reinforcing steel using tying methods and tools.
• Assemble and place reinforcement cages for concrete structures and foundations.
• Ensure work meets engineering specs and safety standards.
• Use hand tools safely, including rebar cutters, benders and tying tools.
• Inspect materials and installations for accuracy and quality before concrete pouring.
• Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, and other trades on site.
