Job summary

Tradestaff New Zealand is seeking an experienced Steel Fixer for a major project in Tauranga, NZ. Start is immediate, with on-site work and a pay rate of $27 per hour. You will read plans, fix reinforcing steel, and contribute to a high-standard construction process.

Expected to bring steel fixing experience, Site Safe, a Class 1 licence, and the ability to read and follow plans while working safely on a busy site. Long-term opportunities and project exposure are offered.

Qualifications

• Previous steel fixing experience.
• Current Site Safe certification.
• Class 1 driver licence.
• Ability to read and follow plans.
• Confidence working safely on a busy construction site.

Responsibilities

• Boxing and shuttering work.
• Reading architectural and engineering plans to determine steel placement.
• Cutting and bending reinforcing steel and mesh.
• Tying reinforcing steel to form cages and grids.
• Fitting spacers and chairs to maintain correct positioning.
• Positioning and securing reinforcement ready for concrete pours.
