Job summary

Big Mals, based on-site in New Zealand, seeks an experienced Foreman to join our management team. This hands-on role runs the daily on-site operations, directs a crew, coordinates with suppliers and subcontractors, and ensures health and safety across projects focused on concrete pathways, decks, handrails, fencing and basic soft landscaping.

You will lead a small team, report to the Company Director, and work closely with clients to deliver high-quality work on schedule.

Qualifications

• full driverds license (manual and auto)
• ability to pass a drug and alcohol test on demand
• basic computer skills - email, Word, Excel, Dropbox and basic app use
• legally allowed to work in New Zealand
• ability to work in a team of like-minded people
• consent to a third party criminal conviction check
• current NZ work visa or NZ residency

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day running of a site team, directing staff on site
• Liaising with suppliers and booking deliveries
• Working with subcontractors and maintaining basic health and safety requirements
• Lead a base team of 3-4 staff and coordinate expansion as needed
• Directly report to the Company Director and collaborate with clients
• Ensure projects are completed efficiently, safely and to a high standard
• Transform spaces with strong teamwork, communication and practical problem-solving
