Job summary

Dell Technologies is seeking a Field Service Engineer to deliver on-site hardware and software support across New Zealand, with focus on servers, storage, networking, and data center environments. You will restore service quickly, troubleshoot complex issues, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to keep systems running seamlessly.

Based in Auckland, you’ll travel to customer sites, lift equipment up to 22kg, and contribute to proactive maintenance while upholding safety and quality

Qualifications

• Hands-on Dell servers, storage and networking expertise.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to interpret system logs and performance data.
• Clear verbal and written communication with customers.
• Willingness to travel across New Zealand at short notice.
• Flexible to work overtime or on-call as required.
• Ability to lift and move equipment up to 22kg.

Responsibilities

• Deliver on-site technical support ensuring rapid recovery and minimal downtime
• Apply technical support expertise to resolve customer issues
• Drive engagement with customer onsite teams when necessary, providing guidance, training, or support on approved technical procedures, answering queries, and coordinating parts/equipment delivery or pickup
• Work closely with peers, remote support and internal SMEs to increase knowledge and resolve customer issues
• Use trouble-shooting tools, content and analytical practices to resolve problems
• Perform proactive and reactive maintenance and hardware PFRs per established procedures
• Enforce safety, quality, and documentation guidelines during interventions
• Orchestrate with logistics teams for expedited delivery of critical parts during high-priority outages; manage inventory
