Randstad NZ is partnering with an established civil contractor in Auckland to hire a hands-on Civil Project Engineer. You will bridge engineering drawings with on-site delivery, supervise crews and subbies, and drive progress on land development and public works projects.

The role emphasizes practical site problem-solving, ITP/QA ownership, and close collaboration with Project Managers and clients. A strong NZ civil background and NZ-specific contract knowledge are essential.

Formación

• Recognised Bachelor of Civil Engineering or NZDE (Civil) or NZQA Level 7 equivalent.
• 3–6 years civil contracting experience on NZ infrastructure or land development sites.
• Hands-on on-site delivery of earthworks, drainage, and roading.
• Experience with ITPs, site QA packs and council sign-off processes.
• Familiarity with NZS 3910 contracts and site variation procedures.
• Strong communication to direct crews and liaise with clients/reps.

Responsabilidades

• Manage day-to-day site engineering operations across bulk earthworks, drainage and roading packages.
• Develop, maintain, and close out Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and QA documentation for sign-offs.
• Coordinate with internal plant operators, pipelaying crews, and subcontractors to maintain site momentum.
• Manage lookahead schedules (2–4 weeks), track material deliveries and procure resources.
• Review drawings, raise RFIs, and collaborate with consultant engineers.
• Assist PM with monthly progress measures, dayworks and variations under NZS 3910.
• Champion on-site health, safety and environmental controls.
