Job summary

JobSpace in Palmerston North is seeking a casual on-call Data Center and IT Technician to support data center operations and SMB client sites. You will handle equipment storage, staging, hardware deliveries, replacements and basic IT troubleshooting as needed.

This on-call role offers pay between NZD 50 and NZD 90 per hour, travel expenses and parking coverage, and training from an experienced team to help you grow your skills.

Qualifications

• Basic experience as a Data Center Technician or IT worker.
• Knowledge of data center equipment and IT hardware.
• Ability to work on an on-call basis.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Respond to on-call equipment staging and delivery requests.
• Store and stage IT hardware securely.
• Deliver hardware to client sites on time.
• Perform hardware replacements and upgrades in data centers.
• Troubleshoot faulty equipment with remote support.
• Follow safety protocols in data center operations.
• Coordinate with remote support team for efficient help.
