Job summary

JobSpace in Auckland is seeking a Casual On-Call Data Center and IT Technician to support data center operations for clients on a flexible, intermittent basis. You will be involved in equipment staging, hardware deliveries, and on-call hardware replacements, ensuring smooth operations across multiple client sites.

The role requires practical knowledge of data center hardware, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work with our remote support team to minimise downtime.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Data Center Technician or IT role.
• Knowledge of data center equipment and IT hardware.
• Ability to work on an on-call basis.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork.
• Flexible with changing schedules and physically fit.
• Hourly pay ranges between $50-$90 with minimum call-out.

Responsibilities

• On-call availability to respond to equipment staging and delivery requests.
• Safely and securely store and stage IT hardware and equipment.
• Ensure accurate and timely delivery of hardware to client sites.
• Perform hardware replacements and upgrades in data center environments.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose faulty equipment to minimize downtime with remote support.
• Adhere to safety protocols and best practices in data center operations via our training.
• Work with our remote support team members to ensure efficient and effective support.
