JobSpace in Wellington is seeking a casual on-call Data Center and IT Technician to support data center and SMB IT operations for our clients. The role is on-call, with responsibilities including equipment storage, staging, deliveries, hardware replacements and basic IT support.

You will work with our remote support team, benefit from training, and compensation is hourly from $60 to $80 with travel expenses covered.

Qualifications

• Basic experience as a Data Center Technician or IT worker.
• Solid knowledge of data center equipment and IT hardware.
• Ability to work on an on-call basis.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Clear communication and teamwork abilities.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing schedules.
• Physically capable to handle equipment in data centers.
• On-call pay range is $60-$80 per hour, plus travel allowances.

Responsibilities

• Be available on-call to respond to equipment staging and delivery requests.
• Safely store and stage IT hardware and equipment.
• Ensure timely delivery of hardware to client sites.
• Perform hardware replacements and upgrades in data centers.
• Troubleshoot faulty equipment to minimize downtime with remote support.
• Follow safety protocols and training for data center operations.
• Coordinate with remote support team for efficient service.
