Job summary

Southern Cross Wellness Partners in Wellington is seeking an Occupational Health Nurse to deliver occupational health, vaccination and wellness services directly to workplaces across New Zealand. The role offers autonomy within a supportive team and regular travel to client sites.

You will perform pre-employment medicals, fitness-for-work assessments, audiometry, spirometry, vision and musculoskeletal screening, and wellness screenings while providing practical health advice and risk management

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level nursing qualification and APC required.
• Ability to work independently with sound clinical judgement.
• Willingness to travel across New Zealand for client sites.

Responsibilities

• Deliver occupational health, vaccination and wellness services at workplaces.

As our Occupational Health Nurse, you’ll take your nursing skills beyond the traditional clinical setting, delivering high-quality occupational health, vaccination and wellness services directly to workplaces across New Zealand. With plenty of variety and autonomy, you’ll provide services including pre-employment medicals, fitness-for-work assessments, audiometry, spirometry, vision and musculoskeletal screening, drug and alcohol testing, cardiovascular and wellness assessments, and workplace vaccinations. You’ll use your clinical expertise to provide practical health advice, identify and manage risks, and help our clients create healthier, safer workplaces. Regular travel throughout New Zealand is an important part of the role, giving you the opportunity to work with a diverse range of people, industries and organisations.

• A Bachelor of Health Science (Nursing) or other relevant tertiary nursing qualification, along with current registration and an Annual Practising Certificate.


• A confident, self-motivated approach, with the ability to work independently and take ownership of your day.


• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills, with the confidence to make sound judgements in a variety of workplace settings.


• A natural ability to connect with people and build trusted relationships, supported by excellent communication skills.

• Strong organisation and time-management skills – you’ll be comfortable planning your day and keeping things moving.

• The flexibility to travel regularly throughout New Zealand and occasionally work varied or extended hours to meet client and service needs.


• Previous occupational health nursing experience would be an advantage, but is not essential.
