We have an exciting Fixed term opportunity for an Obstetrics& Gynaecology Medical Specialist to join our team at Christchurch Women'sHospital. Christchurch Women's Hospital is located on the centralChristchurch Hospital campus, alongside Hagley Park and within walking distanceof the central city. It is a busy tertiary referral centre with approximately6,000 births each year. Our comprehensive service includes Maternal FetalMedicine alongside a large and varied gynaecology service. We are also theregional referral centre for Gynaecological Oncology for Te Waipounamu, theSouth Island. Our Senior Medical Officer team is predominantly generalist,providing care across both Obstetrics and Gynaecology and workingcollaboratively with a broad multidisciplinary team. As an Obstetrics & Gynaecology Medical Specialist, youwill contribute across the breadth of the service, providing high-qualityspecialist care to women and whānau. The role includes inpatient and acutecare, outpatient clinics and participation in the full SMO on-call roster.
We particularly welcome applicants with a strong obstetricfocus. There is scope to further develop areas of special interest within theservice, including early pregnancy, preterm birth and high-risk obstetrics. As part of our commitment to equitable, patient andwhānau-centred care, there may also be opportunities to contribute to outreachservices, supporting access to specialist care closer to home for communitiesacross Waitaha. Christchurch Women's Hospital is an accredited trainingcentre for the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians andGynaecologists (RANZCOG), with both training and non-training registrars. As aSenior Medical Officer, you will play an important role in teaching,supervision and supporting the development of our future specialist workforce.
