Job summary

Mindtree Nursing Solutions in Christchurch seeks a knowledgeable Healthcare Tutor to deliver high-quality theoretical and practical training to nursing professionals. The role requires a minimum of 1 year in healthcare teaching, a nursing degree, and NZNC/APC considerations.

Expect rostered 30–35 hours weekly with potential weekend shifts. You will plan and conduct sessions, prepare materials, and assess students preparing for IQN and OSCE exams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing or related healthcare discipline.
• NZNC registration and Annual Practising Certificate (APC) desirable but not essential.
• At least 1 year of healthcare teaching or training experience.
• Strong clinical assessment, documentation and escalation skills.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and support diverse learners.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver healthcare and nursing training sessions.
• Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials and presentations for training programmes.
• Teach nursing procedures, patient care, infection control and healthcare practices.
• Provide theory and practical training for IQN and OSCE assessments.
• Demonstrate clinical procedures, patient assessment methods and safe nursing practices.
• Identify students' learning needs and provide additional support where required.
• Conduct practical training sessions, mock examinations and student assessments.
• Assess students' knowledge and practical skills and provide feedback to help them improve.
• Teach students effective communication, patient safety and professional nursing practices.
• Review and update training materials to reflect current healthcare practices and standards.
• Maintain records of student attendance, assessments, training activities and progress.
• Guide and support students throughout their training and examination preparation.
• Work closely with the business owner to improve training programmes and teaching methods.
