Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking a Senior Registered Nurse to join Wellington Regional Hospital as a Nurse Educator on a permanent part-time basis (0.9 FTE). The role focuses on leading educational delivery, assessing learning needs, and supporting staff development in a multi-disciplinary team.

The successful applicant will hold a current practicing certificate, ideally have surgical/acute nursing experience, and be committed to teaching and professional development within a culture

Qualifications

• A registered nurse with a current practicing certificate.
• Experience in a surgical or acute nursing environment preferred.
• Excellent communicator with proactive, teaching-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Lead educational delivery and facilitate staff education.
• Assess educational needs of the nursing team and plan development.
• Support staff through PDRP progression and maintain core skills.
• Develop area-related specialty skills and lead nursing education changes.
• Be available to cover morning shifts with occasional after-hours/weekend support.
